A GREAT MYSTERY  



Today I saw one program about Scotland. Frankly speaking, it wasn't interesting for me. But there was one thing which  awoke my interest. It was story about Loch Ness. Scottish lakes are called lochs. The most famous of  them is Loch Ness because of the mystery  of the Loch Ness Monster . Many people swear they saw the monster swimming in the loch.

In 1933 a family driving their car along the edge of Loch Ness encountered a large lumbering beast crossing the road in front of them. In 1934 surgeon Robert Kenneth Wilson took a photograph of the creature in the Loch that became the most famous image of the monster - showing a long slender neck and head protruding from the depths.

Theories
There are many theories surrounding the Loch Ness Monster legend. One idea is that it is a relic from the dinosaur age, a plesiosaur. Another  theory is that the monster doesn't exist and that sightings of the creature can simply be put down to people looking too hard for something that isn't there.

We spend a lot of time in the Internet. And of course we use different social network services. As for me, I like ICQ.  We can chat online with our friends thousands of kilometres away. Nowadays many people express themselves in Weblish. It is the new shorthand English used in text messaging in the Internet . It is a kind of 'slang' - idiomatic English which often breaks the rules of correct English. For example, capital letters are not used.

UNREAL DOG 

 I love animals very much, especially dogs. I believe that they are real friends for everybody.  There are many different breeds of dogs, and each of them is special. So, I want to tell you about  one dog.

This is George the Great Dane, the biggest dog in the world.  He stands at four foot at the shoulders, is seven feet long and weighs in at a whopping eighteen stones.

George lives in Poenix USA and his owners originally chose him because he was very small!=)
 This did not last for long however.  By the age of one the Great Dane weighed in at fifteen stones and at the beginning of 2010 he was officially measured at 43″ from toe to shoulder and made it into the Guiness Book of Records as the world’s largest dog.

Since his TV appearance after making it into the  record books the Great Dane has a fan club, his own website and a Facebook following of 70,000 people!=)

The Great Dane is one of the largest breeds of dog. Often known as a ‘gentle giant’, they are popular because of their gentle nature and attachment to their family.

He is also afraid  of chihuahuas!=)
